Hypnosis Techniques--Integrate Power Loops With Suggestions

By Dr. Anthony Taylor

Can you think of a time when you told someone something but they forgot what you explained to them? At times you can tell someone the same thing again and again, and yet not once does it ever seem like they heard anything you said. This is a usual break down in communication that is more common than you originally may have thought. For this reason, communication experts have long been teaching importance of adding repetition to our communication models.

Hypnotists are also well aware that people are not likely to take in a suggestion unless the suggestion is continual. This is why many hypnosis secrets are built-in with repetition. The hypnotist repeats the same suggestions in different ways in order for the suggestions to take root.

In fact, not only do you have the option of repeating the hypnosis tactics that you are using, most hypnosis secrets NEED to be repeated in order for them to be effective. Hypnosis techniques are delivered through the vehicle of suggestion. However, in order for hypnotic suggestions to take root, they need to be repeated enough times so that they will successfully take root in the person's unconscious mind whom you are influencing.

The technique used in hypnosis for repeating suggestions is called Power Loops. You use Power Loops to continue looping around hypnotic suggestions in order to make your suggestions potent enough to take root in a person's unconscious mind. Each time you loop around a suggestion, you make the suggestion more powerful. It goes without saying that the more power loops you use, the more strength you add to your persuasion techniques.

As a rule, most competent hypnotists use what is recognized as The Blackjack rule as a criterion to decide how many Power Loops they should use to repeat their suggestions. The Blackjack rule says that a hypnotic suggestion should be repeated 21 times in order for the hypnosis method to take root in a person's unconscious mind to the point where the idea is able to grow and create results. - 31969

Make My Own Subliminals Effectively

By Trevor Johnson

The subconscious mind receives a direct reaction of the subliminal messages. These messages can cause positive reactions as well as negative ones. Various researches have shown the effect of these messages on the actions of the viewer or listener. They are also powerful enough to change ones beliefs. The power of the subliminal messages is really strong. We shall see to make my own subliminal messages in seconds.

Even though they are unrecognisable by the conscious mind their impact falls directly on the subconscious mind. The message can be positive or negative. Researchers have proved the link between the subliminal messages and the actions the receiver performs after receiving these messages. The person's beliefs also are altered or changed after having received subliminal messages.

The subliminal message can be created using software readily available on the internet. The messages created by this software are called as dependent messages. This message can be send to our mind in deeper level.

The software is generally used as a free trial before it is sold. It is available online and can be purchased any time. The points to be noted are the effective usage of first person pronouns like I, Me, Myself etc. They are an absolute necessity.

The present tense must be used. The tense for example must be as will, can, shall etc. The positive messages are the ones that are preferred. Making oneself unhappy using this medium is really a foolish idea. It's very important to note that the use of subliminal messages on others is taboo. Advertising through this medium is termed illegal. This is due to violation of the right of privacy.

After reading this article many might have seen what subliminal messages are. They are very important in personality development and can be used to help change deeply rooted habits. And are used by various hypnotists to make people follow or disband something. These messages are powerful and should not be misused. Any misuse will not be tolerated under the law. - 31969

Overcoming Your Fear Of Being Alone

By Trevor Johnson

Fear is usually an emotional reaction or response to a threat or an imagined state of being in danger. This feeling will be experienced especially if an individual believes that they are in danger. Psychologists are of the opinion that fear is a particular response to a stimulus such as pain, disease or being under attack. Some will even have the fear of being alone.

People always craving the attention and the company of others could be said to be suffering from the fear of being alone. They will feel extremely comfortable when they are at social events or when they are surrounded by a number of persons, feeding their desire for the need of appreciation and attention.

Monophobia is another term for this disorder, which causes a number of uncomfortable panic attacks. In addition, these persons may also feel tormented, if their friends mock and ridicule them. Some of their friends may even create situations where they are placed in solitude. This can prove to be harmful for the person suffering with the condition, as the symptoms of the condition can be disturbing.

Low self esteem and low confidence accompanies this condition. Additionally, these persons will experience several abnormalities, when they believe that they are in solitude. For example, abnormal symptoms like nausea, sickness, dry mouth and they will be sweaty. Another symptom is that the heart beat will go faster, which will lead to respiratory problems and temporary speech impediments. Violent attacks of shaking and the lost of psyche are other symptoms that come with monophobia.

Drugs and medication are useful options in treating persons who suffer with the fear of being alone; however most medication will come with serious side effects. Moreover, there is no guarantee that these drugs will be effective in curing the disease. And, of course, not everyone believes that masking the symptoms with medication is the best option anyway.

One can also consider treating this emotional illness by using self-help NLP methods, as these methods will train and prepare phobic persons how to value the significance of being in their own space. - 31969

Find Confidence In Yourself With NLP Anchoring

By Trevor Johnson

First and foremost, you need to know what NLP anchoring is. NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) is your automatic response to stimuli. NLP is similar to classical conditioning that is taught in many psychology classes. Anchors are just one of the tools in NLP and are used to hold a feeling or reaction in place.

Throughout are lives we are constantly being conditioned whether we realize it or not. For instance, maybe as a small child, a relative would lock you in a dark closet just to bully you around a bit. As a result, you might be claustrophobic or afraid of the dark. These feelings are a negative result of the incident. In order to overcome the phobia, you have to retrain your brain with positive thoughts and feelings.

Maybe you do not know why you react the way you do to certain situations, then again, maybe you do. All of us have memories and feelings associated with those memories. Of course, they are not all good; but, they are not all bad either. The goal of NLP Anchoring is learning new associations with stimuli.

What if you cannot focus on anything at all much less anything good when you are in this state? Well then let's try something else.

If it will help you with NLP Anchoring, when you attain the feeling that want, touch a certain place on your hand, wrist, leg, etc... When the anxiety, fear or whatever feeling you do not want to feel fades, let go of the memory. Now, think of another time when you felt confident, happy, etc... Use the same gesture and see how long it takes for the good feelings to replace the bad ones.

NLP Anchoring can also be associated with a person. If you have someone that you really love to spend time with, think of them when negative situations arise. We all have the situations in life that even just the thought of them makes us cringe. The above mentioned NLP Anchoring will help to make the situations more bearable if you practice. - 31969

Covert Hypnosis--Discover its 3 Persuasion Systems

By David Drake

Covert hypnosis skills are vast and in some cases there are too many techniques being taught that cannot be used in real life situations. Hypnosis mind control usually entails three major styles of persuasion:

1) Social Strategy 2) Hypnotic Language 3) Seduction and dating advice

Most of the teachings that are out there only focus upon one of these systems. What usually happens is you are taught the techniques of hypnosis mind control and then expected to be able to modify these universal hypnosis techniques in order to make them applicable towards various persuasion systems. This means that many schools do not deliver the entire training you need to get the things you want.

Social status and power involves getting the best jobs, raises at the work place, and the ability to make powerful alliances that will assist you in your efforts to become successful. Covert language patterns involves sleight of mouth and other conversational hypnosis techniques that you can use to persuade people through language. Seduction involves the most optimal way to communicate with members of the opposite sex in order to increase the likelihood of being able to date more attractive people.

All three of these parts of hypnosis are exceedingly important, but without doubt, social status and power are the most important because by obtaining social status, everything else that you want will eventually fall into place. Nevertheless, it is good to learn hypnosis mind control that goes over as much territory of the art of persuasion as possible. The more you know, the further you can go. It cannot be denied that those who increase in knowledge will also increase in power.

However to learn covert persuasion secrets and to practice covert hypnosis tactics are two entirely different things. If you truly apply what you are being taught, you will achieve the results you are looking for. Mind control hypnosis is like anything else in life: The more you put into it, the more you will get out of it. - 31969

How To Powerfully Persuade Others To Your Way Of Thinking

By George Hutton

Have you ever tried to convince somebody of something, and didn't quite figured out how to do it effectively? In this article you'll learn some basic tips on how to easily and powerfully persuade others to your way of thinking. These methods have been used throughout time to persuade and influence millions. They are very powerful.

The first thing you'll want to do is generate rapport. This is when you feel really comfortable with somebody, you feel a lot of similarity with this person, and you share many things in common.

Next, you want to start looking for criteria. These are things that are important to them. For example, when looking for an investment broker, it might be important to find one that has a quick response time for questions.

The more vague their criteria are, the easier it will be to leverage them. For example, if you are a car salesman, and all you have are blue cars, and they want a red one, this can be difficult.

If their criteria are fuzzy, then it's much easier to persuade them. Vague words like, happiness, security, entertainment, pleasure are much easier to fulfill than a specific brand and model number.

All you do once you find out what their criteria are, is to conversationally convince them that by doing what you want, they will achieve all or part of their criteria.

This is best done obliquely, so they don't feel they are being persuaded. Let them come to the conclusion themselves.

Like say, if they want to feel relaxed, you can tell a story about a happy couple that bought a TV from you, and it fit great in their living room, and they share a lot of relaxation when watching their TV.

The more vague words that you get, the easier it will be to convince them to do whatever you want. The longer you spread out your conversation, the more likely they'll come to the conclusion on their own.

You might start to elicit his or her criteria conversationally, and then talk about something completely different, then tell a story about how a previous client fulfilled their criteria through your product. Then talk about more things not related, and then slowly fill each criteria on by one.

When you do this the right way, and with patience, by the end of the conversation, they will be begging you to be able to do what you want. This is really powerful.

Of course, it goes without saying that if you use this to trick or manipulate people, you will suffer the consequences. You want to make sure to keep their positive outcome in mind, so everybody ends up better off. - 31969

By Andy D Gallagher

How To Enlarge Your Self Esteem

By Andy D Gallagher

No, I am sorry! I believe I would not be capable to do this communication. You may have heard this sort of sentences in your every day life. Most of the individuals who say this need self-confidence. You must value yourself, and let somebody see others that you are competent of doing any type of work.

Firstly, let us study about the word self-esteem. As you recognise that the word esteem means how you believe about something, or how praiseworthy, or precious you think it is, self-esteem means how greatly we feel appreciated, cherished, established, and are thought well of by others.

Well, self-esteem can be shattered when someone, whose recognition is fundamental, continuously puts you downwards. This consideration is usually seen in children when they are ignored, or are given pessimistic denigration about their work, or any other doings. When numerous negative inside voices and outside disapproval get together, they on the whole harm the self-esteem.

When we take a pew alone, we overall analyse ourselves, and attempt to render a picture of what we are, in our minds. We generally are demanding to find a way to prevail over our weaknesses, and we extend this picture since our upbringing. Improbable opportunity can also be the grounds for low self-esteem. At this instant, the point is that how we can have a healthy self-esteem. It is not rigid for life because self-worth changes over time. Therefore, there is always some mitigate for progress. Disappointingly, people who have low self-esteem regularly do have the virtues they think a lot of.

Now, the point is this that how we can have healthy self-esteem. It is not fixed for life because self-image changes over time. So, there is always some cushion for improvement. Regrettably, people who have low self-esteem habitually do have the qualities they admire.

You can progress your self-esteem by staying hassle-free, and thinking confidently. Try to make a record of your fine things as well as a few negative points in yourself. Share and converse these points with your parents, or the individual who is very near to you. Try to commemorate your trivial progresses as well. Always try to put yourself at the lead; it will inspire you to do the finest.

You can improve your self-esteem by staying relaxed and thinking positively. Try to make an inventory of your good things and also few negative points in yourself. Share and discuss these points with your parents or the person who is very near to you. Try to celebrate your minor progresses as well. Always try to put yourself at the front; it will motivate you to do the best.

One more significant thing is to gain knowledge from your mistakes. No one is faultless in this world; every person makes mistakes.

On the other hand, a prudent person never repeats them. This all becomes achievable when you have audacity and self-reliance in yourself; however, over-confidence leads you to the wrong path. - 31969

How Harmful Is Anger For Your Body?

By Andy D Gallagher

Anger is something that can be really harmful, not only for the person you are angry at, but also for yourself. That is why there is always so much emphasis on anger management. Medical as well as psychological research has proved that no amount of eating or exercising can compensate for the damage you do to your body when you are angry.

There is a concentrated unconstructive consequence of anger on your body. Some of the corporeal signs that can be there when someone is angry comprise the grinding and clenching of teeth, muscle tension, flushing, and occasionally there may be buzzing in the ears. For the duration of time of anger, the body experiences shooting blood pressure. This cans consequence in chest pains, and also sweating, and chills. In adding up to this, there can also be harsh headaches as well as migraines.

Several people who face the trouble of chronic anger can also practice peptic ulcers, intestinal cramps, or indigestion, and constipation for the duration of anger. Excessive effects of anger on the body comprise things like heart attack, obesity, and even kidney malfunction.

Medical research tells us that anger affects directly to heart muscles. Those people, who remain angry most of the time, are more likely to become victim of heart attacks because the weak muscles do not work well to pump blood. The angriest people always have cardiac problems, and high blood pressure.

Whether it is undeveloped anger, or not, it tends to damage a person even if the ways are diverse. Long-lasting anger can have a terrible consequence on the skin. Research has shown that the people who restrain their anger on diverse occasions are probable to have skin diseases like eczema, rashes as well as acne. When it comes to skin health, the resolution of anger is the healthier way, as the skin disorders tend to recover when people determine their anger.

Besides having the evident consequences, suppressed anger also has a psychological effect. When one suppresses anger, it may lead to depression, insomnia as well as nightmares. In addition, it can also cause eating disorders and can cause addiction to drugs or alcohol. In some cases, all these symptoms can lead to self-destructive behaviour. These things can adversely affect the way people interact and relate to each other.

What happens to our body when we become angry? In anger, our body releases chemicals and hormones. Adrenaline and non-adrenaline are two hormones, which affect the body organs. Adrenaline hormones affect the sympathetic nervous system. In turn, the heart is stimulated, and coronary vessels become dilated. Due to this reason, the blood vessels, and intestines become narrow, and it affects the digestion.

In order to promote a positive thinking as well as maintain good health, it is important for people facing extreme anger issues to get help with anger management and find some creative outlet for letting out the anger so that it does not harm their health in ways that can be dangerous. - 31969

According To NLP...

By Adam Cox

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a form of psychotherapy that while not typically recognized by mainstream psychotherapy has become extremely popular with teachers, life couches and marketing and business executives. There are even several psychotherapists with private practices and many hypnotherapists who employ the methodology behind NLP.

NLP seeks to change the programming we have in our brains that causes us to react negatively to certain triggers. The belief is that those triggers are really memories or learned behaviors from the subconscious mind that are impacting our emotions. By reprogramming these memories with something positive - a calming color or sight, a happy memory or a pleasant tone of voice - we are thereby changing the way our brain interprets the trigger and changing the way we react. Sure there is little hard, scientific data to back up the claims made by NLP and NLP practitioners but when carefully considered, the theories posed by the method make sense.

There has to be some reason Patient A and Patient B react to things like dogs, snakes or spiders differently. They could have grown up next door to each other, spent their entire childhoods together and came from the same basic background. We'll say, for arguments sake that they were both from middle class, average families with one sibling two years older and one sibling two years younger, and both parents still married - one parent worked, the other stayed home and for the argument's sake again, will say it was the same parent at home in both families. They got similar grades in school and both had the same friends. Yet somehow, despite nearly identical childhoods, Patient A is terrified of dogs and Patient B is a dog lover. How does this happen?

According to NLP, it is likely that Patient A was bitten by a dog or had a bad experience with a dog, or someone in their family had a fear of dogs and displayed it in from of them. In either case, it is probable Patient A has no memory of this experience because it may have happened when they were too young to remember. That doesn't matter to the brain though. The subconscious mind remembers this and triggers the fear reaction every time Patient A sees a dog.

Patient A wants to solve this problem because Patient B is a close friend and, yes, has a four legged friend of their own. Patient A just wants to be able to visit Patient B without having a panic attack at the thought of seeing the dog. Patient A turns to an NLP practitioner to get help.

The NLP practitioner is going to try to get to the root cause of Patient A's phobia. Together, they discover that Patient A did in fact have a bad experience which programmed into Patient A's mind that dogs are bad news and should be avoided. The NLP practitioner will now set about trying to reformat that program by changing the reaction the brain has to dogs. They will do this by reprogramming the brain so when Patient A sees a dog, a pleasant reaction is triggered; allowing Patient A and Patient B to have pleasant visits without the panic attacks. - 31969

Vital Step In NLP

By Landon Rivera

There are two basic principals of beginning to work with Neuro-Linguistic Programming which can greatly improve a person's life by teaching them how to control their emotional reactions, move further in their career and improve behavioral problems. This powerful, fast and effective method of psychotherapy - called NLP for short - can assist a person on their journey to a happy, more fulfilled life.

The first step, though, is deciding that you are ready to change. Without a willingness to accept that many of your problems are caused by the way you think, you are going to get limited use out of NLP therapy. NLP seeks to help you change, but if you are unreceptive to the ideas and methodology behind it, there is little anyone can do. The change first starts with you.

Set Goals:

The first step in NLP therapy is to set achievable goals keeping in mind exactly what you hope to accomplish. Don't be vague. Wanting to improve your life isn't the answer you're looking for you. You have to know exactly what you need to improve your life - what needs to change, what needs to stay the same, what needs to be added and what needs to be removed are all questions you need to ask yourself at this time. For this reason, setting goals may take longer and be more involved than you expected, but it is necessary if you want to see real results.

When you have answered the questions posed above it is time to state your goals. Leave the negativity at the door here. Phrase your goals in a positive way. You almost must be able to see, hear, feel, taste or touch the results. In other words, you must be able to have tangible results. This way you can test your results and physically experience your achievements. Make this easier by visualizing your results as you set your goals. Imagine all aspects of that goal and achieving it. You also have to be responsible for keeping track of your results yourself. This is important because you don't want your progress to depend on someone else. Also be sure the result does not limit you in any way. The goal of NLP is opening yourself up to choice and option. Do not set a goal that robs you of either of those things.

Awareness

Awareness is of vital importance. Setting a goal is of little help if you can't tell whether or not you progressing. You have to be able to see the progress in yourself but also, be able to read your progress in the people you interact with. Read them carefully for their reaction to you and watch to see if it is changing as it should be. You should be able to see positive changes in the way they interact with you. The great thing about NLP is it shows you how to do that as well. - 31969

Inquiring Minds Want To Know Does NLP Cure Phobias?

By Trevor Johnson

Fear is not described as something that is inhumane. In fact, everyone battles a sense of fear of something at one point or time in their lives. However, it is how you deal with this fear that can cause a big problem in your life. One question that a lot of people tend to ask pertaining to phobias is concerning the cure for the problem. Does nlp cure phobias is a common question that many are inquisitive to gain answers to.

NLP is an acronym that is used for the longer term of the word which is neuro-lingustic programming. It is seen as a general approach to model human behaviors by aiding in personal growth and assisting with basic communication.

The practice actually was first introduced in the 1970s and contains a set amount of techniques that derived directly from behaviors that were observed by psychotherapists. NLP focuses on three main areas a persons mind, their language patterns as well as their perceptions or thoughts.

A lot of people tend to refer to NLP as a state of hypnosis, which in many regards is what it truly is. It channels in on all basic human emotions and makes them bigger than you would expect. Properly being able to define what NLP is can be rather difficult, since different hypnotherapists may use different techniques in order to assist their consumers.

NLP provides tools that hypnotherapists need in order to assist their clients with what they need in order to be able to live a happier, fuller and content life. After the procedure has been administered many people go on with their lives cured of their present phobias and ready to face anything.

If you have a phobia that seems to be inhibiting your life, trying NLP may be the best solution to your problem. It's a quick and easy way, without spending hours with a shrink. - 31969

NLP - As A Long Term Solution

By Luis Murphy

Anchoring is one of the fundamental methods in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) - a powerful psychotherapy technique that seeks to improve a person's life by helping them over come negative thinking and self-limiting thoughts and feelings. Anchoring helps the patient master their emotions and overcome self-defeating behavior. Because it focuses on the root cause of the problem, rather than just seeking to treat the symptoms, NLP and anchoring are a long term solution. All you need is the desire to change and the desire to improve.

Emotions and emotional reactions are all caused by something - and that something is called a trigger. Before you can be in control of those reactions you must identify what that trigger is. It will be different for everyone. When seeing an NLP practitioner, the first thing they will do is help you identify your trigger by asking you targeted questions and carefully listening to your responses. They will be looking for key words and phrases and will then ask deeper questions until the trigger is exposed. From there, they will begin helping you anchor that trigger so you will no longer have a negative reaction to it.

The trigger stirs an emotional response from memory. A painful trigger is attached to a painful memory. A happy trigger is attached to a happy memory. When you are experiencing an inappropriate emotional reaction to a trigger - getting angry when you encounter a certain trigger and being unable to control that anger - it is important to anchor it to something else.

In anchoring a trigger, we are changing what emotion is attached to it. An NLP practitioner is likely to use therapy to anchor a trigger than makes you angry to something you feel neutral about. It is likely not appropriate to attach a trigger that makes you feel angry to something that makes you feel happy as that would create a completely different type of inappropriate reaction. For that reason, a neutral reaction is more desired - perhaps choosing something that offers a calming an effect to the patient.

Many anchoring techniques utilize visualization as a beginning point. The patient is made to visual what makes them angry and then visualize the thing that makes them feel calm. It's important to think of nothing but those two things, being careful not to allow the negative emotion - rage, in this case - to attach to the calming device. In time, the trigger will automatically be associated with calm instead of rage. - 31969

Purposes Of NLP

By Owen Bailey

Although there are wide ranging applications for the methodology of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, one of the most commonly utilized purposes for NLP in today's society is in the field of marketing and business. More and more managers, advertising executives and CEOs are using NLP to reduce the stress in their own lives and help their employees manage stress, achieve goals and communicate more effectively.

NLP is especially useful in a competitive field where you have to excel to advance. Since NLP can help you not only improve your communication skills but also feel more confident and more capable - therefore willing to take more chances. Even if you aren't rewarded with that promotion, NLP also helps you take away the positive aspects of being passed over - learning how you can improve and better communicate your desires - and leave behind the negative aspects like hurt feelings and disappointment.

When two people communicate, there are all sorts of hidden signals sent out on both sides. These signals are sent via body language, mannerisms, the way you speak words, the tone of voice you use - all of these things can sometimes speak louder than the actual words themselves. If you are at a job interview and your body language is saying you are unprepared and unconfident you are likely not going to get the job. That nervous body language is created in your mind. NLP can help uncover what is causing that insecurity and eliminate it. By doing so, at your next interview you will have confident, prepared body language and have a much better chance of getting the job.

NLP teaches the value of being able to adapt to different social situations so you will be prepared for any scenario. By simply adjusting your posture, tone of voice and body language to match that of the person you're talking to you build a sort of connection with them. You are better able to find common ground because they will feel like they are speaking with an equal rather than someone below or above them.

NLP also helps remove the self-defeating thoughts each of us has so that we are better able to reach our fullest potential. By freeing ourselves of the thoughts that tells us we can't achieve a goal, suddenly, we are telling ourselves that we can. Believing we can makes us work harder and strive to reach the goal that once seemed unattainable. That confidence makes all the difference in the world of business and in life in general.

NLP is a great tool for anyone to utilize to live their life to the fullest and improve every aspect of their life. - 31969

The Core Of NLP Methodology

By Juan Reed

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on the subconscious reasons for a patient's disorders - from depression to habit disorders and phobias. It was developed in the early 1970s based on the idea that there is a strong connection between internal thoughts and dialogue - beliefs and values - and external behavior and the general quality of a person's life.

To really understand the basics of NLP, one need look no further than the title - Neuro, of the brain, Linguistic, pertaining to language and speech, and programming, trained thoughts or behaviors programmed into our minds. These programs affect every part of our life and we need to correct those programs to make positive changes in our lives.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming began with the belief that there are certain trigger words and phrases a therapist can recognize in a patients speech to help effect change in a patients behavior. NLP practitioners believe that by helping to identify these words and phrases, they can help 'deprogram' patients by testing the deletions, distortions and generalizations in a patients responses. When a patient gives an NLP practitioner an answer that relies on generalizations - such as, "I feel depressed" - instead of a full answer - "I feel depressed because" - the practitioner recognized this and challenges it with targeted questioning - "Why specifically do you feel depressed?" "What happened to make you feel depressed?" "When did you start feeling depressed?" These target questions are designed to break through the patients' mental blocks and allow them to see the real problem clearly - to realize it, and then change it. These mental blocks are at the core of the NLP methodology.

By breaking through those self-imposed mental blocks, NLP helps both the practitioner and the patient have a deeper understanding of the root cause of the problem - in this case, depression. People naturally build these mental blocks through past experiences, beliefs and values that have developed over time. For this reason, it can be difficult to get through them as they mind seeks to protect them using the language we use and the words we use to respond to challenging questions. That is the reason we are more likely to say "I feel depressed" or "I am depressed" as opposed to choosing an answer that tells the listener why we are feeling that way.

NLP practitioners can identify the problem with the targeted questions we discussed earlier and isolate the program that is causing the feeling. Sometimes there is a specific trigger. What that trigger is will be different for different people. The goal in NLP is to uncover that trigger and use anchoring, perceptual positions, reframing, representational systems or sub-modalities to change the way the patient reacts to that trigger. - 31969

3 Ways To Manage Your Stress

By Lucas Bell

It would be difficult to find a person that hasn't felt overwhelmed or stressed out at some point in their life. Life is stressful. Things go wrong and it can be hard to figure out how to make them right. It can be even harder to accept that those things sometimes can't be fixed. The trick is to learn how you can deal with these things and not let the stress overwhelm your life. A popular method for learning to do this employed by teachers, business managers, marketing executives, self-help professionals and life couches is Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

Although Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) can be used to treat phobias, learning problems, habit disorders, psychosomatic illnesses and even depression the methods can also be incredibly helpful for stress management. For that reason it has become a major part of the self help industry and more and more business people are turning to NLP to help improve their lives.

There are three key ways NLP can help manage stress. I'll explore those more in depth below:

Improve Inner Dialogue

Talking to yourself is actually a very beneficial tool everyone can use, but it's important to focus on what you say. Many people need to improve inner dialogue by replacing negative phrases with positive ones. Instead of telling yourself you can't do something or you'll never get through something - tell yourself it will get better and tell yourself to stay strong. Reinforcing the positive instead of focusing on the negative is a good way to block out stress and even help yourself find a way to get yourself through it.

See Yourself As You Really Are

Most people look at themselves and see things they don't like - this is especially true of the physical. The problem with this thinking is that we are almost always far harder on ourselves than we need to be. We set up mental blocks in our mind that limit us to what we can achieve but we also set up mental filters on our eyes. We see the skin thicker than it is or thinner than it is. We see flaws in our appearance that others can't see.

Creating a positive self image is vital to reducing stress. Developing this positive self image often takes no more than focusing on the good in ourselves - and the good in the mirror.

Look Beyond the Problem

This task might be the hardest part of employing the NLP stress management method. It can be extremely difficult to see past an obstacle that may seem insurmountable. This is where the first two methods come in handy. With a positive self image supported by good inner dialogue, looking past the problem can be much easier. It's important to recognize that there are ways around the problem and that life will continue after the problem has been resolved. - 31969

How To Get Others To Do What You Want With Secret Jedi Mind Tricks

By George Hutton

We humans have a lot going for us. We can walk on two legs, do interesting things with our opposing thumbs, and even peel a banana. One thing that we have that is most special is the size of our brains, compared to our body size.

How did this happen? Why are we the Earth's chosen animals? Why didn't the anteater grow a big brain? Some say it is because we use tools, or had to move around a lot in our past, or live through different weather conditions, like ice ages. Some say the driving force behind our huge brains was the development of language.

So why then, did we develop language? Many animals migrate thousands of miles every year, and don't require any complicated speech.

When you think about language as a tool, it might be easier to understand. What do we use this tool for? Chopping down trees? Language may be the most versatile tool ever.

For many, the automatic answer is to simply convey information. Data. Facts, figures, directions, instructions. Are we really just walking computers driven to exchange data with each other, or is there something deeper?

A growing number of evolutionary psychologists are starting to agree that the real purpose behind language is persuasion. To influence. To manipulate each other into our way of thinking.

When you first cried when you were a kid, were you just shouting out for the purpose of information, that you had wet yourself? Or were you trying to influence the adults around you to come and fix the mess you suddenly found yourself in?

When you look at language from this perspective, it starts to make sense that persuasion is at the heart of all our communication. Our boss, our partners, our kids. Unless we are sports reporter giving the details of that days match, we are attempting, at some level, to persuade others.

So, if you are going to persuade somebody, you might as well get good at it. With all these people walking around with hidden agenda's (usually even to themselves), somebody is going to get left holding the bag.

One easy way to persuade others is to elicit and leverage the criteria of others. This means find out what is important to them, and show them covertly that they can achieve that by doing what you want.

This of course requires building a relationship, of some sort, with the person you are trying to persuade. This simple method is at the heart of every successful persuasion. It goes without saying that when you approach any persuasive interaction with a win-win outcome in mind, you can have the best results. - 31969

Hypnosis Techniques and Patience

By Dr. Anthony Taylor

Hypnosis is a potent vehicle of influence and influence that uses the art of suggestion to have power over the thoughts and actions of other people. But this doesn't guarantee you will attain any results right away. If you can fully understand this, you will be on your way to becoming an advanced persuasion artist .

If you persuasion people consciously, you are likely to see instant results. However, if the type of persuasion you are practicing involves the art of influencing people's unconscious mind, then you will need to be long-suffering and let the seeds you are planting in someone's mind enough time to take root and grow.

In hypnosis, this is referred to as seeding of suggestion. . However, a very significant thing to keep in mind about the process of seeding suggestions is that you should not over water your seeds so that you end up interfering with your own suggestions.

What this means is that after you plant your suggestions, you must water them and them leave them alone so the can grow. It takes time to influence people on unconsciously levels, because their conscious mind will need time to catch up with their unconscious mind. Nevertheless, it will happen exactly as you planned, and the reason why you know this is because you went through the process of installing the suggestions into their mind. In the end, all you need to do is wait.

It is a hypnotic secret that the power of suggestion is plagued by the evil necessity of time. There are many novices in the art of influence who don't understand the element of time is a crucial in mastering the power of suggestion. Yet, If you can be patient with people, you can get them to do almost anything. - 31969

NLP As A Model Of Psychotherapy

By Aaron Morgan

About Neuro-Linguistic Programming

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a model of psychotherapy that believes a person can overcome a wide range of problems by adjusting the way they think about the issue. NLP believes patients have programs in their mind that dictate the way the patient reacts to certain outside factors. It comes down to one basic formula. In the patient's mind, they see 'Factor A' - for argument's sake, let's say Factor A is a snake - and a subconscious program in their mind tells them the result of 'Factor A' is 'Outcome B'. Staying with the snake example - the patient sees a snake and the program tells them they are going to get bitten. The problem therein, is that Factor A is not always going to bring Outcome B. NLP seeks to change that program so instead of responding to the snake with terror and panic, the patient will instead react with caution.

Anchoring

Anchoring is similar to classical condition in that you change the reaction to a trigger (or the anchor) by causing your mind to associate it with something else. In the case of the above mentioned snake, anchoring takes the fearful reaction to the snake and changes it to something more positive or at least something more manageable.

By anchoring the snake to another stimulus - something more positive like a comforting tone of voice or something soothing to the patient - the NLP practitioner is able to change the way the patient reacts to the trigger.

Reframing

Reframing is a communication technique that shows the patient how to see a 'frame', an idea, belief or stimulus, differently by putting it in a different context. By doing this, the NLP practitioner can help open their patient up to a wider range of possibilities. Reframing is designed to help the patient see things more clearly and better understand the opportunities available to them. A situation that may seem overwhelming and unsolvable becomes more manageable. New choices become available because the patient has a new way of looking at the situation.

Submodalities

Submodalities are a way for the NLP practitioner to see into a patient's mind and identify the things that need to be changed. This is done through targeted questions and careful observation of what the patient says and how they respond to the targeted questions.

Submodalities are the messages sent between the subconscious and conscious mind regarding remembered sights, sounds, tastes, feelings and smells. All of these things are extremely important in how people will react in certain situations. By working with the patient to identify these things, the practitioner can greatly affect the patient's ability to change.

Perceptual Positions

Perceptual positions are how individuals look at situations. Because everyone is different, everyone is going to have a different perceptual position of a situation. NLP practitioners use this as a tool to help their patients see things from different perspectives.

Perceptual positions help people recognize there are more ways to look at a problem than the way they feel they have to look at it. It opens up their mind to a greater realm of possibilities and helps them identify a better solution. Perceptual positions also help the patient step back from the problem - to get distance from it - to allow them more room to deal with it.

Representational Systems

Representational Systems allows the NLP practitioner to examine how a patient's mind is processing information. NLP teaches how to recognize how the mind processes information from all of the senses - how it sees, feels, hears, tastes and smells. This is valuable in interpreting responses. - 31969

Fundamental teachings of NLP

By Ethan Brown

Neuro-Linguistic Programming is a form of psychotherapy that seeks to help patients have a better understanding of themselves and change negative thought patterns that lead to negative behaviors. Neuro-Linguistic Programming, or NLP, operates around the core principal that every person has subconscious programming in their mind that causes the person to react to certain stimulus in certain ways. By changing this programming, NLP practitioners believe they are able to turn negative reactions to positive ones. All it takes is a change in perspective.

NLP practitioners don't try to treat the symptoms of the surface of negative behaviors or mental disorders, but rather find the root cause of the problem and remedy that. NLP practitioners listen carefully to what patients say to identify any subconscious clues the patient is giving as to the true nature of the problem. NLP practitioners ask targeted questions so not to allow the patient to use deletion or omission when answering questions. By doing this, NLP practitioners are better able to explore the patient's subconscious and identify problems.

The major focus of NLP is to help people have a greater self-awareness and understand that most of the limitations they see as being part of their life are in actuality only a matter of perception. By eliminating self-defeating, self-limiting and negative thoughts, NLP can open the mind to see the bigger picture. By promoting healthy inner dialogue NLP can help you realize that the biggest problem with trying to reach a goal is telling yourself that you can't.

NLP also arms you with the tools you need to more effectively communicate. This is a great asset to anyone in a field that requires they deal with the public on a regular basis. By learning how to read people - one of the fundamental teachings of NLP - you are better able to judge whether or not the person you are speaking to is not just hearing your words, but understands the meaning behind them. NLP also teaches you how to adjust your posture, body language and tone of voice to better fit the situation you're in. By adjusting these things to match the person you're conversing with, you create a sort of connection that helps them not only understand you better but also helps make them feel you are understanding them as well.

NLP can also be used to help a wide variety of mental disorders such as habit disorders, learning disabilities, phobias and even depression. Teachers are employing the methodology behind NLP to help their students feel more confident and overcome learning disabilities.

Over NLP teaches several effective ways to prove just about every aspect of your life and help you live your life to the fullest. - 31969

Know more about NLP

By Christopher Moore

It's the method of psychotherapy no one seems to be able to agree on. Neuro-Linguistic Programming, or NLP as it is more commonly known, is controversial mainly for a lack of evidence to support its claim - unless of course you speak to a patient who says their life has been changed for the better by NLP. Finding those patients is not nearly as difficult as it used to be. For that reason alone this method is becoming more popular with life coaches, teachers, business managers, hypnotherapists and those in the self-help industry. But does it work? The answer to that question really depends on who you ask.

Mainstream psychotherapists point to faulty research and improperly executed test subject studies as proof that NLP doesn't work. They claim the answer to mental disorders can not be as simple as changing the way you think about the problem. For many years, psychotherapists have built their businesses on convincing people of that and using medications to treat the symptoms of these disorders instead of trying to cure the root of the problem. This actually leads us to the most significant disadvantage of NLP.

There are mental illnesses that are in fact caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain and these illnesses do require medication. If untreated, these illnesses can cause dangerous, erratic behavior that poses a risk to both the patient and those around the patient. The danger of NLP is that sometimes these illnesses are not recognized and instead diagnosed as something less severe. In these cases, something seeking treatment with NLP may not receive the care they need.

That said, patients suffering from many common mental disorders such as phobias, learning disabilities, shyness, depression, habit disorders and psychosomatic illnesses can benefit significantly from the methodology behind NLP. The proof that mainstream psychotherapy seeks lies with those that have changed their lives by utilizing the principals behind NLP.

All one really needs to consider when analyzing the potential effects of NLP is the logic behind it. It is obvious that most people with phobias, for example, got that phobia from somewhere. It didn't just occur to them one day that when confronted with a snake or a spider they should break into hysterics and have a full blown panic attack. That phobia is rooted in something. It could be a bad experience that happened to either the patient or someone in the patient's immediate family. It could also be that nothing actually happened to the patient or their family, but could rather be that one of the patient's parents had the same phobia and it was instilled in the patient. No matter what the cause, NLP seeks to find that original cause - the reason behind the fear - and help the patient deal with it. - 31969

10 Unrealistic And Exceptional Phobias

By Andy D Gallagher

People all over the world are afraid of something or the other whether it is water, death, cloud, height or any other thing. It depends on the capability of a person to control his nerves, and remain calm in situations; however, if a person cannot control his fear, it turns out to be a phobia.

People might have a strange feeling of phobia for different things around them. Financial, social and private life of such people is compromised over, if this habit of fear does not go away, since it is psychological disarray. It can be difficult to have control over yourself if the intensity of phobia exceeds all limits.

Many people have phobias for weird things, which are common in our lives. These phobias are usually not easy to control and are not dangerous for our lives. A few of these odd and impractical phobias are:

Ablutophobia

It is the phobia of washing, cleaning and bathing, and is usually found in women and children who are not emotionally stable.

Chorophobia

Dancing is an expression of joy and cheerfulness; can anyone be fearful of dancing? Yes, people have this phobia too!

Koumpounophobia

Buttons are things, which we would think no one would have fear of, but some people are afraid of them, and other things such as coins, discs, which are similar to buttons.

Arachibutyrophobia

Who would be afraid of peanut butter attached to the top of their mouth? Yes, many people prefer swallowing peanut butter rather than chewing it.

Phobophobia

Strange, but true is the fact that people even have phobias for developing a phobia, which usually is related to a mental confusion.

Estiophobia

A very strange phobia is estiophobia; fear of clothes. The sufferers are not afraid of the all kind of clothes but of a certain type and material. Moreover, it is found in people who are fat and middle aged; they think that clothes make them look shabbier.

Caligynephobia

Men and teenage children have a strange phobia from beautiful women. They are scared of their beauty and are usually not straight.

Scopophobia

Scopophobia is the fear of being looked at; it is a real weird one as everyone looks at someone at some point in time. Hence, it might lead to social cut-off of the sufferer.

Euphobia

One always welcomes good news, but some people have the fear of hearing good news. They are not afraid of hearing a good news but of its consequences, as they believe that a good news is always followed by a bad one.

Allodoxaphobia

Many people have a fear from other people commenting about them especially about their looks, personality, career etc. They do not prefer listening to opinions by others about them. - 31969

A Hypnotic First Date

By Richard Brus

There is a seduction technique you can use on first dates such as coffee dates that is very effective. It's called a Seductive Hypnotic Description or an 'SHD'. It works well because it bypasses a woman's conscious filters and causes her to experience the feelings necessary for her to feel a connection that is based on sexual tension.

There are lots of normal words that can be associated with sexuality and this is the foundation that Seductive Hypnotic Descriptions are built upon. 'Sensitive', 'hard', 'soft' and 'wet', are all average words that are laden with sexuality and innuendo. Seductive Hypnotic Descriptions make use of these words by utilizing them within sentences whilst describing something or telling a story. When an SHD is used to tell a story whilst adopting the correct tone and rhythm, a strong connection that is based in sexuality can be created.

Often women will reciprocate a question back to you and this is where you would use SHD's. You need to get the woman to ask you a particular question so you can use your SHD's and the easiest way to do this is to ask her the same question first.

The way to use this technique is to talk about a subject that lends itself to the possibility of you describing how you feel or think about something using a SHD. Asking a woman about the details of her very first kiss will sound strange to her if you don't lay the proper foundations for the question first. You might start by asking her where she went to school. Then you can ask her if she remembers what grade she was in when she had her very first boyfriend. From there it becomes much easier and somewhat natural to ask her a question like, "so does that mean you remember what your very first real kiss was like...?"

These kinds of questions allow her to relive the exciting romantic feelings she experienced while she is describing her first kiss to you. As she is telling you about her first kiss she will to some degree be experiencing those feelings whilst she is in your company. And the more she experiences those emotions around you, the more she'll become attracted to you. Questions like these also give you a great opportunity to use 'seductive hypnotic descriptions' to tell her about your first kiss when she reciprocates your question and asks you, "Do you remember your first kiss?"

This is when you can use a Seductive Hypnotic Description. An example might be, "...My first kiss I can definitely remember...we both ran under this big tree because it was raining and everywhere was wet...but even though I was wet, it wasn't hard to give in to the moment...I remember her how soft her lips were and how easy and natural it felt to be kissing her...even as we kissed droplets of rain fell onto our faces and wet our lips...and even though I was wet, the kiss warmed up my whole body...and that's why it's hard to forget..."

The SHD above is full of words that are laden with sexuality yet the words themselves do not connote anything sexual. Most women cannot filter out the sexual connotations these words carry as they try to grasp the meaning of the story or description. As a result, these words go straight through to their subconscious. SHD's bypass conscious filters because the structure of the sentences is somewhat perplexing to understand because of all the words laden with innuendo.

The words associated with sexuality can also be ever so slightly and subtly emphasized using a seductive tone. Even if you just spoke the above SHD in a normal tone it would still work wonders. The injection of a seductive tone has to be very subtle and not at all obvious. Another way to colour it with a seductive tone is to place a subtle emphasis on the spaces in between the sentences. To allow them to be...just slightly... longer than you would in a normal sentence. This colours the description with a seductive hypnotic rhythm.

To get the most out of SHD's, only use them in very small doses. Never make a SHD any longer than the example above. On a first date such as a coffee date, you wouldn't use anymore than two SHD's in the 40 minutes you spend with her. Becoming proficient in SHD's will require you to practice answering your own questions using SHD's. Once you can naturally and easily repeat an effective SHD, simply ask women the question you require them to ask you in order for you to try a SHD. - 31969

Can Life Coaching Turn My Dreams Into Reality?

By Andy D Gallagher

The job of a life coach is to assist and guide you in dealing with various issues in your life. In short, the main purpose of life coaching is to help the clients achieve whatever goals they have in life, or maybe help them get over difficulties in life.

All kinds of people can seek the services of a life coach. One could be on a very prestigious post and one could be a total professional failure; that does not matter. What matters is your need for someone to guide you for direction and support. A life coach can give you pointers about things, like a career change or regarding difficult decisions in your life.

Moreover, you could be a mother, or a housewife who needs to figure out what to do with her life. Finally, you could be a person who needs a more positive, and optimistic outlook towards life. No matter what the problem, a life coach can help you get through it.

Life coaching can basically be divided into two basic categories. The first category is personal life coaching, which helps you with the issues of your personal life. If you are at a certain crossroads in your life where you think you need help deciding what to do next, and what step to take, a life coach can help you decide the best option. Similarly, if you think you lack certain personality traits such as confidence, and strength, then you can hire a life coach who can help you achieve this.

There is also professional life coaching. Sometimes, there is lack of motivation and a need to switch careers. That is where a life coach can help you weigh the pros and cons of each decision. Also, a life coach can help you enhance your performance and effectiveness. Not just that, he/she can help you gain extra confidence and a drive to excel. Hence, a life coach can be a great professional helper.

A life coach can definitely help you achieve your dreams. If you have a certain purpose in life, or a specific goal, you can always hire a life coach who can help you work towards the fulfilment of that purpose. Most of us have a dream that we want to bring to reality, and we know that we have it within ourselves to make that happen.

The strain and tension of everyday life leaves very little time for one to pursue personal dreams. In the course of this fight for survival, potentials happen to get wasted. A life coach can solve this problem by organizing the schedule of his/her client in a way that helps them balance the strings of their responsibilities. This is complemented by working on the motivation factor and pumping more optimism in the outlook.

Nowadays, coaching has become a popular profession, and there are many life coaches, which you can hire for their services. You can either find one through reference, or through the internet, or hire them to help you achieve your life dreams. - 31969
