Neuro Linguistic Programming Anchoring - How It Helps

By Trevor Johnson

Basically, neuro linguistic programming is just an increased state of mind in which you can use to bring yourself in to a much more peaceful state. Many people use this technique to reach higher success levels at work or even to just stay ahead of things in day to day life.

If you can learn to use NLP anchoring you can enable yourself to find a place in your mind that is free of stress and frustrations. At work this can be really helpful, but it can also be a good thing to use if you are simply aggravated with someone.

Studies that have been conducted on this have shown results that point to the ability to increase the effectiveness of the technique by finding more than one anchor to use at a time.

To effectively practice this technique you will need to be able to find and put yourself in to a calm state of mind that mimics that of one you have experienced in the past. It may be the feeling you had when you got an A on a test, the birth of your child or even just a thank you for a job well done. No matter what it is, use it to your advantage.

Different types of memories can have different effects on us. After you have found one that works for you, figure out how you can call upon it at any time you need to use it.

Successful use of this technique will not happen in a day and it will take time for you to develop a method that works for you. The anchor you choose to use can be a picture, a voice, a sound or even a smell. Use what gives you the best results. For parents, their most effective memory is one that involves their children, often their voice. For other people it be something you accomplished all on your own without anyone's help.

While the list of things you can use can be rather long, what it really takes is a serious commitment on your part. Before ever attempting to use this method you need to sit down and really think about all of things in your life that bring you happiness. This is an easy way to put yourself in a better state of mind and keep you on track. - 31969
